1st Challenge in the MOOC course - Introduce Yourself in a Visual Way

Alright, I just recently drank the Apple juice and got an iPad and an iMac. Been playing a little with both of them and so far finding them very very cool. In particular, the video editing programs on Apple are super easy to use. As I always wanted to be the next Steven Spielberg when I was a kid, iMovie is really speaking to me. So here's my introduction. Enjoy.

Let me introduce myself!

My name is Drew Robinson and I am a teacher at Broken Arrow Senior High School in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. I teach world history and world geography to juniors and seniors. This is my first full year of teaching and it's definitely an experience! Sometimes it's tough balancing classroom management with innovative lessons - but I think that overall it's worth it for my students. I believe that as teachers, we should give our students every advantage we can to help them succeed in the real world. To me, that means preparing our students for the digital age of the 21st century.

As a big proponent of technology in classroom, I'm looking to create a community that can support me in my endeavors to teach Common Core skills using the best that technology has to offer. I'm also looking for innovative ways to bring technology into the classroom, as the school where I teach has limited technology.

I recently acquired an iPad and have been experimenting with it. I created a fun video for my students on why they should study for school...It's a parody of the "Gangnam Style" video by Psy. I'm posting it because I had a lot of fun making it and I think you will be able to  see my sense of humor which is a big part of who I am.
